What's a Past Master

A Past Master is a Master Mason who has served as a leader of a masonic lodge. It is one of the highest honors a Master Mason can attain. It is a badge of honor to be called a Past Master.

It means that you have worked your way through the various seats in the lodge, showing proficiency in each one, and finally being given the gavel of authority.

After leading the lodge from the East, you are then moved into a position where you will continue to serve the lodge as the advisor to the incoming Worshipful Master.

You get the pleasure of wearing an apron similar to the picture to the left.

Once again, it is a great honor to be called a Past Master. Here are the Past Masters in out lodge.
